Salisbury City Council has purchased its very first electric vehicle for use around the city

Salisbury City Council is delighted to announce that it has now added the very first electric/hybrid van to its fleet of vehicles.

The van, which is a Ford Transit Custom Electric Hybrid 340L1 1.0Phev, will be used to travel with equipment to Salisbury’s play parks on a daily basis where our Grounds Team carry out important safety checks and inspections.

The City Council is looking to purchase another electric/hybrid van later this year as part of their goal to replace or convert all City Council owned or operated vehicles to electric powered vehicles as soon as is practically possible.

Salisbury City Council declared a climate emergency in June 2019 and is working to make the city as carbon neutral as possible by 2030.
