Emma Driver, the Marketing and Business Development Co-Ordinator at Acheson Construction Ltd, is using her promotional skills to create a Fundraising Ball with her former college friend Harriet St Ledger following the deaths of their grandmothers due to Alzheimer’s.

Both of the Grandmother’s died at the age of 81 following many years with the irreversible, progressive brain disorder that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills. Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia among older adults.

The two granddaughters have arranged the Bloomin’ Marvellous Ball at the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel & Spa on Saturday 28th March 2020.  They hope to raise over £5000 for the Alzheimer's Society that provided support and information to help both families cope with the cruel disease.

“It will be a fantastic evening with music, a raffle and auction. We already have some great prizes donated, including signed books from author and television personality David Walliams and Angel Adoree from the TV series Escape to the Chateau,” said Emma Driver, whose Grandmother Peggy Tyler, originally from Hertfordshire, lived in the Verwood and Bishops Waltham areas.  She died in July 2018.

Harriet St Ledger said that her Grandmother Patricia Hulbert, who died in June 2016, lived in the Twyford, Alton and Eastleigh areas.

“We hope that anyone who knew these wonderful women will help support our fundraising and hopefully attend the evening.  We would also ask anyone who can donate raffle and Auction prizes to contact us so that we may even exceed our £5000 target,” said Harriet St Ledger.
