Dorset marketing agency Intergage is celebrating after local hero Nirmal ‘Nims’ Purja MBE shattered one of mountaineering’s great records by climbing all 14 8,000+m ‘Death Zone’ peaks in just six months.

Intergage donated its services for free to build the Bremont Project Possible website for Nims and his team – helping them to raise vital funding for the climbs.

Intergagers jumped for joy as the former Ghurkha and Special Forces operator announced to the world on social media that he had completed his incredible challenge by summiting the 14th peak, Shishapangma in China.

His amazing achievement smashes previous records.
The 8,000+m peaks that he and his team climbed are called the ‘Death Zone’ because the air is too thin for humans to survive.
In completing the challenge, the Hampshire mountaineer rescued four other climbers – three of these rescues were “suicide missions”.

Intergage’s pro bono work for Bremont Project Possible was led by studio director Duncan Marsh and lead front end developer Tom Aylott. They were thanked for all their work when they attended a reception in London at the Embassy of Nepal.

Intergage managing director Paul Tansey said: “What Nims and his team have achieved is absolutely incredible.

“We’re so proud that Intergage has been able to play a tiny part in this fantastic and truly uplifting story.”

Mr Tansey had been introduced to Nims by a client and was instantly inspired by him. He immediately drove Nims back to the Intergage office in Sterte Avenue West, Poole.
Within 45 minutes of first meeting Nims, Mr Tansey was introducing him to the Intergagers so he could inspire them too and outline his planned world record attempt!

“Nims is an amazing but very humble man. He was very modest about his existing achievements in the mountains and the military.

“But after he spoke the atmosphere was electric – it was like being addressed by a real-life superhero.

“We knew right from that very first moment that that Nims was going to triumph over the huge challenge facing him – he soaks up adversity and revels in overcoming the seemingly impossible.

“Nims had a calm determination about him but also an infectious enthusiasm. He was so resolute, so cheerful – nothing was going to stand in his way!”
Intergage has a long track record of supporting local heroes in the community.
Mr Tansey said: “When we first met Nims, he was living in east Dorset – it’s great that our local hero is now an international hero.

“Since the Bremont Project Possible website went live it has been visited by users from more than 180 countries!” he added.
