Hampshire based GHS Group has taken the prestigious role of Ambassador at the 2019 Big Green Awards to be held in Poole, Dorset in November. GHS Group is a leading building services company, specialising in gas, water and electrical services - they include all types of heating systems, gas appliances, air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, electrical works.
Hosted by Dorset company The Southern Sustainability Partnership, The Big Green Awards is the region's only event dedicated to rewarding organisations in the fields of environmental management, corporate sustainability and social value. Director, Lynda Daniels: "These issues are as important to running a business today as quality solutions and great customer service - and is true no matter the size or type of operation. Our region is rich in outstanding supplier businesses, as well as highly proactive organisations taking a significant role in reducing their carbon footprint.  It is imperative these efforts are recognised and is why we host a dedicated, annual event in the Italian Villa at Compton Acres in Poole on the 27th November."
Managing Director, Marc Smith of the GHS Group, shares this thinking and was instrumental in discussions for the first event in 2018 - now putting those thoughts into action by becoming event Ambassador. "When you work with businesses day in day out you realise how important effective environmental management is to the overall efficiency of running an organisation. In 2018 we helped to support the first event by sponsoring an award and were also proud winners of the Business of the Year Award.  We are determined to ensure the continued success of this event, to enable even more businesses to be rewarded and this year we took up the mantle of Ambassador to help achieve this. We will also be on stage ourselves to announce you are a winner to one lucky company in the Innovation - Product or Solution category."
In 2018 winners included organisations across the charity, private and public sectors from the RNLI, Bournemouth Borough Council, Clean Energy UK, Pearce Compaction, Borough of Poole, Ceuta Healthcare, Neal's Yard Remedies, Hadland Care Group and Litter Free Coast and Sea. Lynda Daniels: "All our winners and runners up went away with an award and everyone enjoyed a welcome drinks reception, 3-course dinner, awards ceremony and entertainment. We are delighted to be working with our Ambassador, GHS Group to welcome everyone attending this year’s event."
