Yellow Buses is working in partnership with schools across the region to introduce new transport links for students from September.

The bus company’s route 6 is to be extended from Merley and Wimborne to Queen Elizabeth’s School in the morning and afternoon. The daily cost is £3.70, or £16 per week, with the return trip starting from the school in the afternoon.

Yellow Buses is also working with Twynham and St Peters schools by providing a new bus link from Burton to the schools in the morning and afternoon. The daily cost is £3.70 or £16 per week.

In the morning, the same bus departing from Burton at 0736 connects with the 1a to Highcliffe School which arrives at 0815. In the afternoon there is a direct bus back from Highcliffe to Burton.

As Highcliffe and New Milton are in Yellow Buses’ zone A, B, C they have a different day price with daily tickets costing £4.30 or £16 per week.

All the tickets can be used throughout the day and evening. At weekends, the weekly ticket can be used to travel across the Yellow Buses’ network, including visiting Bournemouth for work and shopping.

Simon Newport, Commercial Director, said: “This is a great example of Yellow Buses, as a locally owned and run bus company, working in partnership with our local community.

“We hope the new links will provide an easy connection for students. The ticket arrangements, and particularly the fact that they can be used outside school hours, will also allow young people to get out and about in their spare time, enjoying all the benefits of living in this fantastic part of the country.”
