After winning the BHStar Business Tourism Venue Category earlier this year, it has been announced that Hotel Miramar is the category sponsor of the BH Stars Here 2 There Award.
The Here 2 There Award is aimed at any business that provides a great service helping both locals and visitors get from A to B, as well as explore the area! Any mode of transport business can enter air, land and sea – bikes, boats, buses, coaches, jet-skis, planes, trains - even those that use our feet!
The Hotel Miramar is a family owned, 4 Star hotel in Bournemouth, employing 66 staff from apprentices to senior management. The Blakemore family have owned the hotel since 1966 and have a strong connection to the hotel and the community it sits in. Before they owned the establishment as a family they would frequently holiday in the Bournemouth area during the school holidays – subsequently falling in love with the hotel and the area.
The hotel and team have had first-hand experience on how the BHStar Awards have boosted brand awareness for their business, as well as many others from the local area. They have witnessed the support and community that the BH Star Awards bring to the local area, and how it has become a pivotal part of the BH business scene. The BH Star awards support all local business types, including apprentices, and start-ups, as well as locally based historic and established brands.
Said Clare Blakemore “The Miramar team were truly surprised and honoured to win the award earlier this year. It made every member of the team feel their hard work and dedication was worthwhile. We know the value and importance of the BHStar awards, from the entry process onwards. These awards helped us to review our business and look at how we shape the future. Not only have they raised our profile and given us new confidence, but we’ve also met and done business with other businesses too, thus forging improved local relationships.
These awards are so much more than a one night celebration - our customers and suppliers were delighted - it’s lifted morale. If you’ve never entered an awards before give it a go, it’s a worthwhile opportunity and experience even if you don’t win.”
Within the last few years, the Blakemore family, supported by manager Theo Lakimov have invested greatly into the refurbishment of the Hotel, including the No 43 Restaurant, the bedrooms, public areas and function rooms, to improve its value for visitors, staff and locals and maintain their 4 star status.
Said Jackie Phillipson of BHStar Awards, “The Hotel Miramar is an integral part of the local economy. The team are community orientated and run events such as the annual Navy Blue Party which takes place during the Air Show and which raises funds for military charities.”
Said manager Theo Lakimov, “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the BHStar Here 2 There Category. This award category is the perfect fit for us as we work closely with a variety of transport businesses in the area. Where would we be without the buses, taxi’s, boats and planes, they all take care of our customers to and from the hotel and the local area.
We look forward to supporting the awards in the years ahead, not only are they great for us, but they are superb celebration of the fantastic business community across the BH area.”
