Celebrate Salisbury workshops

The winning design by Alabare

Salisbury City Council are hosting 3 workshops this month to create the Celebrate Salisbury art piece which will be displayed outside Shopmobility.

Last year, the Communities Team carried out a competition asking for residents of Salisbury to design a central image to be situated outside Shopmobility in the Maltings Shopping Centre, Salisbury. With a theme of ‘Celebrating Salisbury’, the competition looked for a design which represents the best of Salisbury.

The design made by Christian community charity, Alabare was chosen as the winning favourite and will be created using hand-cut coloured vinyl in workshops run by commissioned artist, Sif Wolthers at the following dates:

•           Bemerton Heath Centre, Wednesday 21 August
•           Bemerton Heath Fun on the Green, Thursday 22 August
•           Picnic in the Park, Wednesday 28 August

We are asking Salisbury residents to get involved in these fab workshops and take part in creating the design as part of a community art project. The final piece will be professionally printed and laminated to withstand time and weather and displayed outside Shopmobility.

If you would like further information please contact the Communities Team on 01722 417100.
