A rise in the number of people visiting UK attractions is having a positive impact on local coach firm, Lucketts Travel.
The company, based in Fareham, is seeing an increase in the number of passengers it’s taking to museums, historical sites and gardens. Demand for such trips has risen significantly and contributed to a record number of day trip passengers last year.

Lucketts saw day trip passengers rise by 12 per cent last summer compared to the same period in the previous year. More than a third of its coaches went out completely full and the company says 2019 is shaping up to be even busier.
New figures were released yesterday (March 27) revealing that visitor numbers at UK attractions has risen by nine per cent despite fewer overseas tourists. The statistics also showed trips to London attractions have increased (by 3.37 per cent), two years after flatlining because of rail problems, terrorism fears and the cost of buying things in London.

Paul Barringer, sales and marketing director at Lucketts Group, said: “We’ve undoubtedly seen the rise in visits to UK attractions reflected on the ground with the type of requests we’re seeing from customers locally. We’ve seen a real rise in demand for trips to museums – both in the capital and those closer to home. It’s not just from daytrippers either, we’ve seen an increase in school trips to museums too.”

Paul adds that the company has adapted its latest day trip brochure to match the latest trend in consumer demand.
