Darren Northeast, Managing Director of Bournemouth-based Darren Northeast PR has been announced as one of the 70 industry professionals being recognised by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in their 70 at 70 anniversary celebrations this month.  The aim of the 70 at 70 campaign is to cast a spotlight on its members who have contributed diligently to either the professional body or to the public relations community at large.

Darren has been selected as one of the “70 at 70” for his contribution in four industry areas: outstanding or exemplary public relations practice; volunteering and commitment to the PR community; entrepreneurship within the profession and thought leadership and authorship in public relations.

Currently the Chairperson of the Wessex region of the CIPR and a long-standing member of the Institute, Darren began his career in PR and communications in the financial sector before setting up his own agency in Dorset, thirteen years ago.

Sarah Hall, President of the CIPR says:
“At the start of this very special anniversary year, we wanted to celebrate the practitioners who regularly go above and beyond. Chosen by our membership and judged by an independent committee, we now have our fantastic 70 at 70. Thanks to everyone who gives their time so generously to help the industry and CIPR thrive.”

Of his recognition, Darren Northeast says:
“I am proud to have been recognised as one of the 70 at 70 by my professional body. I am fortunate to have a career that I truly love and able to pass that enthusiasm on to my team, aspiring PR professionals, and in my work as Chairman of the Wessex region of the CIPR.”

There will be a celebration of the 70 at 70 in London on Wednesday, 14th November where the CIPR’s new book Platinum will also be launched.
