Salisbury law firm Trethowans is ending the financial year on a high, having raised more than £3,000 for a nearby hospice over the last 12 months.

The firm selected Naomi House & Jacksplace as its charity of the year last April and, with the final pennies counted, an impressive £3,168.64 has been raised. Sponsored walks, bake sales and dress down days were just some of the money-spinning ways staff worked hard to raise funds for the local cause. Donations of toys at Christmas and chocolate eggs at Easter also gave an added boost.

Naomi House & Jacksplace hospices provide expert hospice care to more than 325 life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their extended families from Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Berkshire, West Sussex, Surrey and the Isle of Wight. Trethowans is a big supporter of the worthy cause and has chosen it as its dedicated charity of the year for the Salisbury office.

Chris Whiteley, managing partner at Trethowans, said: “It’s important for businesses to give back to the communities they operate in, which is why we’re committed to raising money for local charities every year. Naomi House has long been a pillar of support for parents whose children have life-limiting illnesses and we hope the money we raised will help the charity continue its exceptional work going forward.”

Jill McDonagh, corporate fundraiser at Naomi House & Jacksplace said: “The support of Trethowans throughout the year has been nothing short of phenomenal. Their staff are a thoroughly innovative and determined bunch, and the money they have raised has been a huge boost for our charity. We are so grateful to the whole team there for all they have done in support of the region’s life-limited children, young people and their families.”

Trethowans is no stranger to good deeds in the community. To celebrate its 150th birthday it carried out 150 good deeds in the areas it operates in. It has an ongoing CSR programme, which works to give back to the community by supporting charities, education and community and sporting groups.
